On October 17, 2024, in Ho Chi Minh City, Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT), in collaboration with the Vietnam Radio and Electronics Association (REV) and the IEEE Communications Society (IEEE ComSoc), organized the International Conference on Advanced Technologies in Communications 2024 (ATC 2024). Attending the conference were Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Phan Tam, Dr. Tran Duc Lai, Chairman of the Vietnam Radio and Electronics Association; Prof. Dr. Tu Minh Phuong, Chairman of PTIT Council; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Hoai Bac, President of PTIT; Dr. Tan Hanh, Vice President of PTIT, along with a large number of scientists from around the world.

Overview of the Conference

Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Phan Tam and Prof. Dr. Tu Minh Phuong, Chairman of PTIT Council, alongside many scientists, attended the conference.


The conference is a key platform for researchers and innovators in Vietnam and worldwide to exchange information, share research results, and promote academic cooperation in advanced communication technologies. ATC 2024 received 307 papers from 682 authors, with 176 outstanding papers selected for presentation. The conference aims to foster an international forum for scientific and technological exchange among scientists from Vietnam and around the world in the fields of electronics, communications, and related areas, while also gathering high-quality research contributions.

Deputy Minister Phan Tam’s Remarks


In his speech at the conference, Deputy Minister Phan Tam highly appreciated PTIT’s efforts in organizing the conference. He emphasized that the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) has set scientific and technological goals to be realized through solutions such as developing comprehensive digital transformation strategies, open technology innovation, digital human resource development, and global talent training in key fields like the semiconductor industry, microchip design, and artificial intelligence. The ministry has also established a steering committee to promote research and development in 6G mobile information technology and has been actively implementing activities to carry out Vietnam’s semiconductor industry development strategy by 2030 with a vision to 2050. Additionally, the ministry has approved the 2024 Action Plan to implement the Strategy for the Development of Artificial Intelligence by 2030, alongside numerous other sector-wide efforts aimed at maintaining independence and sovereignty in Vietnam’s technological development strategy.

Deputy Minister Phan Tam also expressed his hope that the conference would facilitate deep discussions among scientists on new technology trends, methods to ensure information security, and opportunities for cooperation between nations and enterprises in the development of digital technologies. He emphasized the importance of identifying practical solutions to ensure that digital technologies not only bring economic benefits but also contribute positively to societal development and improve the quality of life for people.

Remarks by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Hoai Bac, President of PTIT

Speaking at the conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Hoai Bac, President of PTIT, expressed the institute’s great honor in hosting ATC 2024 and warmly welcomed the participating scientists. He highlighted that PTIT is the only university under the Ministry of Information and Communications and has become a leading institution with rapid growth in Vietnam, pioneering in digital transformation. In recent years, PTIT has demonstrated excellence in research, focusing on improving quality and outcomes by establishing numerous research centers and collaborating with international experts and partners. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Hoai Bac expressed his expectation that the conference would be a venue where researchers and innovators from Vietnam and around the world can exchange information, share research results, and promote academic cooperation in advanced communication technologies.
