As part of its working visit to Kazakhstan, on May 29, 2026, a delegation from the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT) participated in the 2nd High-Level International Conference on “Sustainable Development in Eurasia” held in Astana.

The conference was organized under the direction of President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, bringing together policymakers, business leaders, experts, and international scientists to discuss the future of the post-2030 sustainable development agenda, as well as the role of AI, digital transformation, and multilateral cooperation in addressing global challenges.

Overview of the conference

Through the forum, the PTIT delegation had the opportunity to connect and exchange with various universities and research organizations in Kazakhstan to explore potential cooperation in education, research, and high-quality technology human resource development.

During the trip, the delegation also held a meeting with representatives of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University — one of the leading universities in Kazakhstan and Central Asia, particularly recognized for its strengths in technology, data science, cybersecurity, and international research.

The two sides discussed student exchange programs and joint research cooperation, especially in the fields of cybersecurity and digital technology. Representatives of Gumilyov University shared that PTIT students participating in exchange programs in Kazakhstan are expected to receive tuition fee waivers and accommodation support, along with potential living expense support depending on scholarship and research programs.

PTIT and Gumilyov University also agreed to maintain connections between their academic units, promote academic exchange activities, and work toward signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the near future.

PTIT’s participation in the “Sustainable Development in Eurasia” Forum continues to expand the institute’s international cooperation network while creating further opportunities to connect with universities, research institutes, and innovation ecosystems in Kazakhstan and the broader Eurasian region in strategic technology and digital transformation fields.
