At the meeting, Minister Vu Hai Quan emphasized that cooperation in science and technology has been one of the most effective areas of collaboration within the Vietnam–Italy partnership. To date, the two countries have established more than 150 memoranda of understanding between universities and research institutes, along with numerous joint research programs in areas such as energy, health sciences, climate change, space science, and remote sensing.

On that basis, both sides continued discussions on expanding cooperation in strategic technology fields, including artificial intelligence, digital technologies, space technologies, and advanced materials. In addition, areas with strong complementary potential between the two countries—such as smart agriculture, food technology, post-harvest preservation technologies, digitalization of cultural heritage, environmental technologies, and sustainable development—were also highlighted as priorities for future collaboration.

Both sides agreed to continue promoting existing cooperation programs while coordinating the implementation of activities within the framework of the Vietnam–Italy Joint Committee Meeting on Science and Technology, expected to take place in 2026.

In recent years, PTIT has actively expanded cooperation with Italian partners in the fields of education, research, and technology transfer. The Institute currently maintains partnerships with a number of Italian universities and technology enterprises, including the University of Catania, the University of Palermo, the University of Trento, Temix, as well as partners within the European Union’s Erasmus+ network.

Notably, Temix Group has established the Advanced Telecommunications and Aerospace Design Center at PTIT, creating opportunities for PTIT students and faculty members to directly participate in international technology projects while expanding access to internship programs and scholarships in Italy.

In addition, PTIT has maintained close coordination with the Embassy of Italy in Vietnam and Uni-Italia in activities related to educational connectivity, sharing information on study opportunities and scholarships, and promoting academic exchange between the two countries. These activities are considered an important foundation for PTIT to further expand cooperation with Italian partners in strategic technology fields and innovation in the coming period.
