On August 20, 2026, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Hoai Bac, President of the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT), attended the Final and Award Ceremony of the Qualcomm Vietnam Innovation Challenge 2026 (QVIC 2026), where he joined Qualcomm Vietnam in launching the training program “Technology Entrepreneurship: From Innovation to Commercial Success.”

The activity marks the next stage in the cooperation between the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology and Qualcomm Vietnam, expanding from intellectual property cooperation to innovation and technology entrepreneurship training. It also creates additional opportunities for students to gain access to knowledge, practical experience, and the technology ecosystem of the enterprise.

At the event, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Hoang Minh and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Hoai Bac, President of PTIT, joined other delegates in the launch ceremony of the training program. Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister Hoang Minh highly appreciated QVIC’s journey in nurturing and incubating startup ideas, while expressing his expectation that the projects would not stop at the competition but continue to develop with the market and gradually grow into technology companies.

From Intellectual Property to Technology Entrepreneurship Training

Following Qualcomm Vietnam’s launch of the L2Pro online intellectual property training platform at the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology on October 15, 2025, the two sides continued discussions on developing an in-depth training program on innovation and technology entrepreneurship for students.

Based on PTIT’s curriculum framework for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Qualcomm Vietnam connected experts in entrepreneurship and innovation, including Ms. Truong Ly Hoang Phi and other experts, to contribute to the development of the program, learning materials, and practical use cases. These use cases were developed based on the startup database accumulated over six seasons of the Qualcomm Vietnam Innovation Challenge (QVIC), combined with Qualcomm’s expertise and knowledge and the specific characteristics of Vietnam’s startup ecosystem.

Through this collaboration, the program “Technology Entrepreneurship: From Innovation to Commercial Success” was developed with the aim of equipping technology students with the mindset and knowledge needed throughout the journey from innovation and idea development to building a business model and bringing technology products to market.

A notable feature of the program is the combination of Qualcomm’s knowledge and experience with the specific characteristics of Vietnam’s startup ecosystem. This makes the program particularly relevant to technology students, who have technical backgrounds but need to strengthen their knowledge of markets, business models, and product commercialization.

Currently, the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology and Qualcomm Vietnam are carrying out the technical steps required to synchronize student accounts on the L2Pro platform. Under the planned system, students’ learning activities on the platform will be automatically aggregated and integrated into PTIT’s training system via API, creating conditions for students to officially begin the program from the first semester of the 2026-2027 academic year.

PTIT Students Make Their Mark at Qualcomm Hack Challenge 2026

Alongside training cooperation, PTIT students also made their mark at the Qualcomm Hack Challenge 2026. On August 16, 2026, team 404 Brain Not Found, with its project “SignTalk – Edge AI Vietnamese Sign Language Translator,” successfully reached the Top 15 of the competition.

The project applies Edge AI to convert Vietnamese Sign Language into Vietnamese text and speech, aiming to support people with hearing impairments and reduce communication barriers. The system uses a camera to capture movements, combines MediaPipe with AI models based on GRU/LSTM to recognize signs, and performs processing directly on the device.

The achievement of team 404 Brain Not Found, together with the co-development of the new training program and its planned integration into PTIT’s training system, demonstrates tangible outcomes from the connection between PTIT, technology enterprises, and the innovation ecosystem.

Through its cooperation with Qualcomm, the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology continues to strengthen the connection between education and industry practice, creating more opportunities for students to access knowledge, develop ideas, test products, and gradually bring technology closer to the market and everyday life.
