The Australia-Vietnam Strategic Technologies Centre (AVSTC) is thrilled to launch its Call for Proposals, offering a groundbreaking opportunity for talented Vietnamese academics and scientists to pioneer strategic technologies research and real-world applications in collaboration with Australian partners.
Seed Grants are available to support innovative research projects that will push the boundaries of next-generation connectivity empowered by 5G/6G, AI, cybersecurity, semiconductor and their transformative impact on industries and society. Each successful application will receive seed funding of AUD $15,000. Candidates can work individually but are encouraged to work in a team and collaboration with Australian partners.

Successful scholarship applicants will receive:
- Certificate of Recognition
- AUD 500 prize to support academic pursuits
- Travel allowance of up to AUD 250 for candidates residing outside Hanoi
Outstanding students and engineers participating in the Forum may also be recommended for PhD research scholarships at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) and research centres in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. These opportunities may include an annual tuition/fee waiver of up to approximately AUD 50,000, a living stipend of approximately AUD 40,000, and additional project-based funding.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants must be Vietnamese, at least 18 years old, and living in Vietnam.
- Excellent contributions and achievements for the development of Enabling Technologies for Digital Transformation.
- Grants are awarded for research in strategic technologies and related fields, such as AI, 5G/6G, IoT, Semi-conductor, Cyber Security and Privacy, Quantum, and Satellite.
We will prioritize applications with potential impacts, especially in collaboration with industry partners. The candidates must submit the proposal based on the template. The successful candidate will be informed via email by 20 September 2026 and invited to participate in 2026 Australia-Vietnam Strategic Technologies Forum on 1-2 Oct 2026.
