On November 16, 2024, the final round of the “UET MAKERTHON 2024 – Micromouse Dash” competition took place at the University of Danang – University of Science and Technology (UET), in a vibrant and dynamic atmosphere that attracted a large number of tech enthusiasts. This competition was a valuable playground for young talents to showcase their skills, explore their limits, and learn new competencies in the field of control and automation. As a result, the team “Gió Mùa Đông Bắc” consisting of four students from the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT), won first prize in the competition.
An Exciting Event That Attracted Many Talented Teams
With the theme “Micromouse,” this year’s competition attracted 35 teams from major universities in the Hanoi area. The semi-finals took place on October 12 and 13, with the “Gió Mùa Đông Bắc” team from PTIT achieving the best performance, completing the maze in 12.32 seconds. This impressive result came after thorough preparation and the dedicated spirit of the team members. Team “Gió Mùa Đông Bắc” Preparing for the Competition In the final round, eight top teams competed, including two representatives from Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST), one from PTIT, and five from University of Danang – University of Science and Technology (VNU – UET).
In the final, each team had to program and control their robot to navigate through a challenging maze to reach a target location. The teams then demonstrated their capabilities to determine which team could complete the maze in the shortest time. The robots had been thoroughly prepared, using various strategies, making for an exciting and suspenseful race to the finish line.
Team “Gió Mùa Đông Bắc” Wins First Prize in the Final
After a series of intense rounds, the “Gió Mùa Đông Bắc” team emerged victorious, winning first prize. The team, consisting of talented members Trần Văn Hiếu, Nguyễn Đức Cảnh, Nguyễn Bá Hiếu, and Nguyễn Vũ Tất Khang, all from the D22DT – PTIT cohort, defeated strong opponents thanks to their meticulous preparation and effective competition strategies. This success not only showcases the talent of the team members but also affirms the quality of students in the Faculty of Electronics Engineering 1 and the effective activities of PTIT’s Electronics Club in this field.
