Within the framework of the collaboration between PTIT and the University of Catania, four students from PTIT have officially started their journey of studying, researching, and practicing at the University of Catania. On this occasion, the two sides conducted productive working sessions in Catania to mark the first achievements of cooperation and to plan for further collaborative activities.
In 2024, thanks to the efforts of both parties, programs supporting PTIT students in pursuing master’s degrees at the University of Catania and internships for PTIT students at the university have been successfully launched, with four students receiving support. For the two students pursuing a master’s degree at the University of Catania, the university provided scholarships to study in Italy and offered academic and professional support to the two students selected for the two-month internship program at the University of Catania. In addition, the students and participants received assistance with scholarship registration and visa procedures through close collaboration with UniItaly, an Italian organization in Vietnam which aims to strengthen cooperation between Italy and Vietnam and encourages Vietnamese students and researchers to study in Italy.
To prepare for the study and internship programs starting in October 2024, on September 27, 2024, the University of Catania formally welcomed the leadership and staff delegation from PTIT for a visit and working session at the university. During the meetings, the two sides exchanged results and cooperation plans and attended a gathering between PTIT students and professors from the University of Catania.
At the working sessions, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Hoai Bac, President of PTIT, emphasized: “As one of the leading technology universities in Vietnam and a pioneer in digital transformation and global cooperation, PTIT is honored to be a partner of the University of Catania. PTIT greatly values the opportunities for students that the collaboration between PTIT and the University of Catania has provided. We hope that these initial programs in training and internships will achieve outstanding results and pave the way for broader cooperation between the two sides in the future.”
Professor Francesco Priolo, Rector of the University of Catania, expressed his pleasure in welcoming the delegation from PTIT and confirmed that the two sides would enhance their cooperation, particularly in student and faculty exchanges, and expand collaboration in the key academic fields of both universities.
