Hanoi, September 17, 2026 – As part of the 60th Anniversary Celebration of the Institute of Posts and Telecommunications Science and Technology (1966-2026), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Hoai Bac, representing the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT), presented an honorary doctorate to Mr. Armando Caravella, Founder and Chairman of Temix Group, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to promoting cooperation in science, technology, education, and human resource development between Temix Group and PTIT.

Mr. Armando Caravella has more than 30 years of experience working and leading high-tech enterprises in various countries. He holds three European patents and has participated in international technology projects, including EUTELSAT’s “Smart LNB” project in Paris, France, and served as Technical Project Team Leader for the MEDEA Project under the EU EUREKA Programme.
Through his cooperation with Vietnam, Mr. Armando Caravella has promoted activities related to advanced infrastructure and technology transfer, contributed to strengthening research capabilities and technological self-reliance, and helped expand international technology connections while supporting Vietnam’s ambition to become a regional design hub.
These contributions have been particularly evident through the cooperation between Temix Group and PTIT, especially in developing models for technology research and design and high-quality human resource development.

One of Mr. Armando Caravella’s notable contributions has been his role in promoting the establishment of the Temix – Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology Advanced Design Center, creating a foundation for the two sides to implement research, technology development, and training activities.
Building on the results achieved, on September 17, 2026, PTIT and Temix Group signed their second Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation and announced the establishment of the Vietnam – Italy Space Technology Center (VISTC), witnessed by Mr. Marco Abbiati, Science and Technology Counsellor, Embassy of Italy in Vietnam. This marks a new stage in cooperation between the two sides, expanding activities from technology design to research, development, and specialized training in space technology.

Alongside these activities, Temix Group announced a program offering 10 scholarships to talented students, with a total annual value of up to VND 2 billion. The program aims to provide PTIT students with additional opportunities to study, conduct research, and undertake internships at VISTC, as well as access internship opportunities in Italy.
Through these activities, Mr. Armando Caravella has contributed to strengthening connections among education, research, and industry; supporting PTIT in developing high-quality human resources; expanding its international cooperation network; and enhancing its research and technology development capabilities.
The awarding of the honorary doctorate to Mr. Armando Caravella comes at a time when cooperation between PTIT and Temix Group is entering a new phase of development, with concrete programs in research, training, scholarships, and technology development. The distinction recognizes his practical contributions to advancing cooperation in science, technology, and education between PTIT and Temix Group in particular, and between Vietnam and Italy more broadly.
