On May 11, 2026, at PTIT’s Ngoc Truc campus, the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT) solemnly held the opening ceremony of the “PTITxCAU Joint Hackathon 2026”.

Delegates and students attending the opening ceremony
Attending the ceremony were Prof. Jong-hyun Wi – President of the Virtual Convergence College (VCC), Chung-Ang University and Co-Director of PTIT VCC; Prof. Hojin Lee – Professor at Chung-Ang University. Representing PTIT were Dr. Nguyen Trung Kien – Vice President of PTIT; Dr. Cao Minh Thang – Director of CDIT; Dr. Nguyen Kim Quang – Vice Director of CDIT; Dr. Do Trung Anh – Director of the PTIT Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center; representatives from the Department of Science & Technology Management and International Cooperation; along with participating teams and students.
This year’s “PTITxCAU Joint Hackathon 2026” focuses on inspiring creativity and nurturing entrepreneurial ideas among students passionate about App and Game Development. These are strategic fields with strong global growth and high commercialization potential. The competition continues to serve as a bridge for academic exchange, enabling Vietnamese and Korean students to work together in solving real-world challenges under the guidance of experts and enterprises in the industry.
With the central theme of “Entrepreneurship and Collaboration in App & Game Development”, this year’s competition requires participating teams not only to demonstrate strong programming skills but also to develop user experience (UX) thinking and sustainable business models.

Dr. Nguyen Trung Kien, Vice President of PTIT, delivers remarks at the opening ceremony
In his opening remarks, Dr. Nguyen Trung Kien, Vice President of PTIT, emphasized that maintaining two Hackathon events annually has become a sustainable bridge connecting young talents from the two countries. He expressed his expectation that this year’s competition would not only serve as an academic playground in Multimedia and Immersive Media, but also foster innovation and entrepreneurship among students, thereby laying the foundation for broader cooperation programs between the two universities in the future.
Supporting the competition is a mentor team consisting of experts currently working at major game and technology companies, including Mr. Ta Quang Huy – Game Designer at iKame; Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoai – Product Manager at iKame; Mr. Hoang Dang Duong – Product Manager at Funtap; Mr. Hoang Tien Dai – Unity Developer Lead at Amobear Vietnam; and Mr. Le Dinh Cuong – Product Owner at Amobear Vietnam. The mentors will directly support, advise, and accompany participating teams throughout the process of idea development and product completion.
Participating in the competition are 20 outstanding students from the two universities, divided into five teams. Each team, consisting of four members — including two PTIT students and two CAU students — will focus on developing a business idea for an App or Game product and implementing it into a prototype within three days.
The closing and award ceremony is expected to take place on May 13, 2026.
The event once again reaffirmed the strong partnership between the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology and Chung-Ang University since the cooperation agreement signed in 2023, opening up further opportunities for faculty exchange, student exchange, and academic resource sharing in digital technology fields.

This year’s competition also continued to demonstrate the effective cooperation between PTIT and Chung-Ang University. Previously, on November 26, 2025, a delegation of lecturers and talented students from PTIT’s Game Design and Development program visited and worked directly with Chung-Ang University. As part of the VCC program, the visit opened up new directions for cooperation in training, research, and virtual convergence. The activity has also become an annual program, helping students strengthen cultural exchange and confidently integrate into the global technology environment.
