On April 14, 2026, within the framework of the State visit to China by General Secretary and President To Lam, a delegation from the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT), led by Prof. Dr. Dang Hoai Bac, participated in the Vietnam–China Forum on Higher Education, Science and Technology, and Innovation Cooperation. PTIT’s participation in the Forum, alongside the high-level Vietnamese delegation, reaffirmed the Institute’s proactive role and growing position in international cooperation, particularly in strategic technology fields.
The Forum served as a vivid demonstration of the strong commitment of senior leaders of both Parties and States to further deepen the Vietnam–China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership. At the event, the PTIT delegation actively engaged in discussion sessions, connected with strategic partners, and updated emerging trends in education and technology. This marked an important milestone, contributing to enhancing PTIT’s reputation and position in the process of international integration and its active participation in high-level cooperation programs in science and technology.

Following the opening session, delegates from universities and enterprises of both countries participated in four thematic sub-sessions, focusing on key areas such as high-quality human resource development, linking education with industrial value chains, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and sustainable development. Delivering a presentation at the Forum, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Quang Anh, Vice President of PTIT, emphasized that global higher education is undergoing a profound transformation in the context of rapid AI development, where AI is evolving from a tool into a “learning partner.”

On that basis, PTIT is oriented toward developing a “smart digital university” model, with AI serving as a core infrastructure, enabling the transition from mass education to personalized learning and from stage-based education to lifelong learning. AI is expected to be applied throughout the academic lifecycle, including question bank development, assessment support, feedback systems, and curriculum development. At the same time, PTIT proposed strengthening Vietnam–China cooperation through joint research on AI in education, faculty and student exchange programs, development of cross-border digital learning platforms, and the establishment of ethical and governance frameworks for AI.
Discussions at the Forum highlighted the ongoing transformation of the role of universities in the knowledge era—from knowledge providers to centers of innovation, technology connection, and drivers of socio-economic development. This is also the consistent direction pursued by PTIT, aiming to develop a digital university model that closely integrates training, research, and technology transfer in key fields, contributing to the national digital transformation process.

In this process, international cooperation—particularly with Chinese partners and leading technology corporations—has been identified as a strategic pillar. PTIT has been actively expanding partnerships with organizations such as Huawei, ZTE, iFlyTek, as well as leading universities and research institutions, including Tsinghua University, focusing on artificial intelligence, telecommunications, digital transformation, and information technology.
Cooperation activities are increasingly shifting from academic exchange to joint program development, collaborative research, and the implementation of technology projects. Through these efforts, PTIT continues to enhance its innovation capacity and reinforce its position within the regional and global technology ecosystem.
