On May 30, 2025, in Hanoi, the Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Manh Hung and the Ministry’s delegation visited and worked with the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT). The Australia – Vietnam Strategic Technologies Centre (AVSTC) had the distinct honor of welcoming Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Manh Hung and his Ministry delegation.
The Minister’s visit to AVSTC was arranged as one of the highlighting starts of the working schedule of the delegation to PTIT this time. At the visit, the Director of AVSTC, Prof. Nguyen Ngoc Diep from the University of Technology Sydney, presented the demos of the strategic technologies at the Center and an active and stimulating Q&A session took place with interesting questions from the Minister and the delegation.
This important visit is recognised as a valuable opportunity for AVSTC evaluate the Centre’s current activities and future development directions, supported by the Australian government. The AVSTC is expected to serve as a crucial bridge, strongly promoting research cooperation and high-quality human resource training between Vietnam and Australia, especially in key technology sectors. Additionally, the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT) has set ambitious goals for 2025: to support at least three spin-off startups from the Institute to expand into Europe; and to strive to become Vietnam’s number one university in Innovation, researching the formation of a special innovation zone right within the university campus.
With these ambitious objectives, PTIT not only demonstrates its determination to become a leading research and innovation hub in Vietnam but also affirms its pioneering role in creating a robust technology ecosystem, significantly contributing to the breakthrough development of national science and technology and the digital economy.
