On October 23, 2024, a delegation from Seoul Cyber University (Korea) – SCU, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eun-Joo Lee, President of SCU, visited Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT) in Hanoi. The delegation was welcomed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Hoai Bac, President of PTIT, along with representatives from various departments and functional offices.
Overview of the Working Session
During the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Hoai Bac warmly welcomed the SCU delegation. He announced PTIT’s plans to establish a “Vietnam-Korea Center” dedicated to supporting students learning Korean language, promoting Korean culture, and providing resources on Korean job opportunities and business culture. The President highlighted PTIT’s ongoing efforts to finalize procedures to launch educational programs aligned with the Korean job market and reaffirmed the strong, promising partnership between the two universities.

Expressing gratitude for PTIT’s warm welcome, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eun-Joo Lee, President of SCU, emphasized the significance of this partnership as “PTIT is SCU’s first partner in executing the 2+2 program.” She underscored the necessity of expediting the joint educational program amid the rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to meet the high demand for skilled labor in technology fields. SCU shared that it has already developed digital learning materials and collaborated with businesses to create AI-focused coursework. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eun-Joo Lee expressed her hopes for more comprehensive collaboration to support students throughout their studies and in job placement within the Korean job market.

During the session, PTIT discussed the progress of its collaboration with SCU. PTIT has completed the proposal for the 2+2 joint program in Applied Information Technology under the digital university model and has submitted it to the Ministry of Education and Training. The program is expected to begin recruiting students in November 2024, with classes starting in late December 2024. PTIT has also completed its online education system and infrastructure for the program and proposed that SCU provide support for venues for program launches, exam administration, and more.
Previously, in August 2024, during a visit to Korea attended by Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung, PTIT inaugurated the SCU–PTIT joint training office at Seoul Cyber University. This office serves as a hub to promote activities in PTIT’s Applied Information Technology program under the digital university model in Korea, with the goal of providing highly skilled graduates ready to meet the needs of businesses and society, including companies in both Vietnam and Korea.
