Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology Showcases Technological Capabilities and Expands Partnerships at Vietnam – Australia Tech-Connect 2026

On August 10, 2026, a delegation from the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT), led by Assoc. Prof. Dang Hoai Bac, President of PTIT, participated in the Vietnam – Australia Tech-Connect Forum 2026 at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Australia. Attended by Party General Secretary and State President To Lam, leaders of ministries and agencies, and more than 500 representatives from universities, research institutes, businesses and the scientific communities of the two countries, the Forum provided a platform for PTIT to showcase its technological products and solutions across two exhibition spaces while strengthening connections with Australian partners in education, research and technology development.

The Vietnam – Australia Tech-Connect Forum 2026 was held as part of the State visit to Australia by Party General Secretary and State President To Lam, with the aim of promoting cooperation in science and technology, innovation, investment, education and training, and human resource development between the two countries. In addition to the High-Level Plenary Session, the program featured thematic sessions, panel discussions, direct business-research institute-university networking activities, and an exhibition showcasing achievements in Vietnam-Australia cooperation.

PTIT Showcases Its Technological Products and Solutions

At the Forum, PTIT exhibited at two spaces: the Australia-Vietnam Strategic Technologies Centre (AVSTC) booth together with the University of Technology Sydney, and the exhibition area of Vietnam’s Ministry of Science and Technology.

PTIT presented seven technological products and solutions at the Forum, including Cosign, Quantum, 5G Fronthaul, AI Tutor, Legal AI, AI for Vietnamese Language Learning, and Deep Culture/Nghia Tru. Of these, Cosign, Quantum and 5G Fronthaul were showcased at the AVSTC booth, while AI Tutor, Legal AI, AI for Vietnamese Language Learning, and Deep Culture/Nghia Tru were presented at the Ministry of Science and Technology’s exhibition space.

Through the exhibition, PTIT’s technological products and research and development outcomes were introduced directly to leaders, the scientific community, universities, research institutes and businesses attending the Forum. The event also provided an opportunity for PTIT to further demonstrate its capabilities in technology research, development and application as science, technology and innovation cooperation increasingly becomes an important pillar of the Vietnam-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

From Technology Showcase to Expanded Partnerships

The exhibition spaces and networking activities on the sidelines of the Forum also provided opportunities for PTIT to meet and engage directly with numerous Australian universities, businesses and partners. Beginning with discussions on PTIT’s products, education and research capabilities, the exchanges expanded to explore specific opportunities for cooperation in both human resource development and technology research and development.

In addition to education and training cooperation programs, PTIT and its partners discussed opportunities to implement joint research projects in areas such as AI, telecommunications, integrated circuit design and semiconductors. These are also among the priority areas in the growing science and technology cooperation between Vietnam and Australia, with the aim of connecting the research strengths of universities with the development and application needs of strategic technologies.

PTIT’s networking activities at the Forum therefore went beyond showcasing its capabilities or seeking individual cooperation opportunities. They also created new connections between PTIT and Australia’s university, research and business ecosystems, providing a foundation for further discussions and the development of appropriate cooperation programs in the future.

PTIT and Griffith University Advance a Dual-Degree Program

One of the notable outcomes of PTIT’s education cooperation activities at the Forum was the exchange of a Memorandum of Understanding between PTIT and Griffith University on the implementation of a dual-degree program in Information Technology/Computer Science under a Franchise Program model.

The Memorandum of Understanding was exchanged during the ceremony for the exchange of cooperation documents and announcement of initiatives at the High-Level Plenary Session of Vietnam – Australia Tech-Connect 2026, witnessed by leaders of the two countries.

Under the agreement, the program is designed to run for 4.5 years, equivalent to nine semesters, combining the curricula of PTIT and Griffith University. During the initial stage, students will study at PTIT under its curriculum, with Griffith University also delivering selected courses. In the subsequent stage, students will follow Griffith University’s curriculum at PTIT and/or through a combination of in-person and online learning. Upon completion of the program, students will receive degrees from both institutions.

The advancement of the program with Griffith University also demonstrates how PTIT is translating its networking activities at Tech-Connect 2026 into concrete education cooperation programs, alongside its continued efforts to explore joint research opportunities with Australian partners.

Connecting Education, Research and Innovation

PTIT’s presence at Vietnam – Australia Tech-Connect 2026, encompassing technology exhibitions, partner networking, and the advancement of education and research cooperation, contributed to expanding the PTIT’s network of partnerships in Australia. Rather than treating education separately from research and technology development, discussions at the Forum highlighted considerable potential to integrate these strengths into joint cooperation programs.

This approach also aligns with the message emphasized at Vietnam – Australia Tech-Connect 2026 on strengthening linkages among government, universities, research institutes and businesses; promoting joint research and human resource development; advancing technology commercialization; and building innovation ecosystems between the two countries.

By bringing its technological products and research outcomes to a high-level connectivity forum while proactively expanding engagement with Australian universities and businesses, PTIT continues to align its international cooperation activities with its education, research and technology development capabilities, thereby opening up further opportunities for substantive cooperation in strategic technology fields between Vietnam and Australia.
