The event was attended by Mr. Zhao Gang, Vice Chairman of ZTE Corporation; representatives of the Chinese Association of Engineers and the Embassy of China in Vietnam; as well as experts and engineers from Vietnam, China, and ASEAN countries. Representing PTIT, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Hoai Bac, President of PTIT, together with representatives of relevant professional units, attended the event and directly contributed to the program.
Building Engineering Capacity for Technological Mastery
Speaking at the launch ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Hoai Bac, President of PTIT, emphasized the significance of establishing the Center in Vietnam amid the growing demand for high-quality technology human resources. He highlighted that cooperation should go beyond the transfer of equipment and solutions toward building endogenous capabilities, enabling engineers to master, operate, and continue innovating based on new technologies.

The Center is also expected to serve as a platform for sustained connections among engineers from Vietnam, China, and ASEAN countries, promoting professional exchange and experience sharing while gradually working toward greater harmonization of engineering competency standards across the region.
As a national key university specializing in engineering and technology, PTIT identifies research and training as closely connected with industry and practical needs. PTIT currently provides education for more than 30,000 students in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, with a network of laboratories covering artificial intelligence, next-generation networks, big data, and information security. These facilities provide a foundation for the Center’s training and research activities.
PTIT Directly Contributing to the ASEAN Engineering Training Program
As part of the 2026 ASEAN – Vietnam Engineering Capacity Building Program, PTIT is participating not only as a partner but also directly contributing to training content and professional exchanges. On September 22, PTIT is expected to welcome a delegation of senior engineers participating in the program at its Ha Dong campus and open its laboratories in artificial intelligence, computing networks, and 5G for the engineers to visit and exchange with research teams.

Overview of the ceremony
PTIT experts are also participating in specialized sessions on quantum key distribution and information security, as well as a roundtable discussion on strengthening technical human resource capacity in the digital and artificial intelligence era. PTIT is also sending artificial intelligence experts to participate in teaching and professional exchanges as part of the program.
Under the program, participating experts are focusing on topics including AI-enabled network deployment, cybersecurity in the AI era, mutual recognition of engineering competencies, quantum key distribution-based information security, AI-driven engineering roadmaps, and strategic digital infrastructure development.
