On the morning of August 13, 2026, a delegation from the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT), led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Hoai Bac, President, met and held a working session with Prime Minister of Vanuatu Jotham Napat to discuss the results of cooperation to date and directions for expanding collaboration in education, information technology, artificial intelligence, agriculture, and innovation.

The delegation included Dr. Do Trung Anh, Director of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Pham Vu Minh Tu, Deputy Director of the Center for International Training; Dr. Nguyen Viet Hung, Deputy Head of the Department of Science and Technology Management and International Cooperation, Dr. Tran Tien Cong, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence and Mr. Vu Van Thuong from the Center for International Training.

Welcoming the PTIT delegation to Vanuatu, Prime Minister Jotham Napat recalled his positive impressions from his visit to the PTIT during his time in Vietnam and highly appreciated the PTIT’s role in promoting cooperation between the two sides. The Prime Minister expressed his appreciation for the support provided to Vanuatu students and the plans to continue coordinating with the Ministry of Education of Vanuatu in the coming period. Previously, on January 24, 2026, Prime Minister Jotham Napat and a high-level delegation from the Consulate of Vanuatu in Vietnam visited PTIT and held an informal meeting with Vanuatu students studying at PTIT.

The initial results of cooperation between PTIT and Vanuatu have been clearly reflected in training activities. In 2025, seven Vanuatu students studied at PTIT under the Government Scholarship Program. By 2026, the number had increased to 21 students, mainly in information technology, electrical engineering, and electronics. Students who enrolled in 2025 have all obtained Vietnamese language proficiency certificates at B2 level, meeting the requirements to continue their formal study programs. In addition, PTIT currently offers 13 scholarships for Vanuatu students.

Speaking with the Prime Minister, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Hoai Bac expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome extended to the delegation and affirmed that PTIT would continue to accompany Vanuatu in education and training. PTIT proposed developing a digital platform to support online learning, enabling Vanuatu students to access up-to-date knowledge in ICT, AI, cybersecurity, and electronics; collaborating to provide online certificates; and further strengthening exchanges of students, technical staff, and experts.

Building on the foundation of educational cooperation, the two sides also expanded discussions toward technology applications aligned with Vanuatu’s practical needs. PTIT proposed cooperation in developing an online platform to support tourism promotion and smart agriculture systems, thereby opening up further avenues to connect PTIT’s technological capabilities with Vanuatu’s development sectors.

The meeting with Prime Minister Jotham Napat further strengthened the foundation for cooperation between the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology and Vanuatu, while expanding areas of collaboration from human resource training to technology applications and innovation in the coming period.
