At the official invitation of the United Nations, a delegation from the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT), led by Assoc. Prof. Dang Hoai Bac, President of PTIT, participated in the workshop Development of a Blueprint for National AI Strategies and National Data Center Strategies and attended the signing ceremony and launch of the Global AI Capacity Development Network (AICDN) in Geneva, Switzerland.
Notably, during the event, PTIT officially became a member of the AICDN, marking an important milestone in expanding its international partnerships and reaffirming PTIT’s role within the global artificial intelligence ecosystem.

The signing ceremony and launch of the AICDN were held at the headquarters of the World Trade Organization (WTO), with the participation of representatives from United Nations agencies, universities, research institutes, enterprises, and AI organizations from around the world. Representing PTIT, Dr. Vu Hoai Nam, Head of the Department of Applied Artificial Intelligence and Director of the YIRLoDT Lab, signed the membership agreement on behalf of PTIT.
The AICDN currently brings together more than 20 leading AI centers from Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, and the Caribbean, with the mission of promoting international collaboration, knowledge sharing, resource exchange, and experience sharing to strengthen AI capacity development worldwide.

The AICDN was established to strengthen international cooperation in AI capacity development by connecting universities, research institutes, enterprises, government agencies, and other relevant organizations, thereby helping bridge the AI capability gap among countries. The Network is supported by the United Nations Office for Digital and Emerging Technologies (ODET) and operates in alignment with the principles of the Global Digital Compact.

Joining the AICDN opens up new opportunities for PTIT to strengthen collaboration with universities, research institutes, enterprises, and international organizations in the field of artificial intelligence. It will also facilitate cooperation in education, scientific research, high-quality talent development, and the sharing of best practices in responsible AI. Furthermore, membership provides an important platform for PTIT to expand its presence in international academic and innovation networks while contributing to AI initiatives that serve the common good.

As part of the mission, the PTIT delegation also participated in the workshop Development of a Blueprint for National AI Strategies and National Data Center Strategies. The international forum brought together policymakers, experts, and representatives of international organizations to discuss national AI strategy development and data center infrastructure planning.
The discussions focused on a wide range of key topics, including the development of national AI strategic frameworks, data center infrastructure, AI capacity building, international cooperation, and the sharing of policy-making experiences, with the aim of promoting safe, responsible, and sustainable AI development.

PTIT’s participation in the workshop and its official membership in the AICDN further demonstrate the Institute’s proactive commitment to international integration in artificial intelligence and digital technologies.
