PTIT Works with Emerald Publishing to Discuss Directions for Enhancing Research Quality and International Publications

On June 4, 2026, the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT) held a meeting with Emerald Publishing for North and Southeast Asia led by Mr. Stan Lee, Regional Director, to discuss emerging trends in higher education, improving research quality, and promoting international scientific publications.

Attending the meeting on behalf of PTIT were Assoc. Prof. Dang Hoai Bac, President; Assoc. Prof. Dang The Ngoc, Editor-in-Chief of the PTIT Journal of Science and Technology and Vice Dean in-charge of Telecommunications Faculty 1; Dr. Ngo Duc Thien, Head of the Department of Science & Technology Management and International Cooperation; along with representatives from faculties, research offices, and research groups in Northern Vietnam.

Representing the partner side were Mr. Stan Lee, Regional Business Director for North and Southeast Asia at Emerald Publishing, together with representatives of Emerald Publishing in Vietnam and iGroup Vietnam.

Overview of the meeting

Speaking at the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dang Hoai Bac shared that PTIT is currently focusing on strengthening research groups in artificial intelligence, semiconductors, digital transformation, and emerging technologies, while also developing an internationally standardized research environment, improving the quality of scientific publications, and expanding cooperation with prestigious academic publishers worldwide.

He also emphasized the important role of academic databases, international journal systems, and research support programs in enhancing the research capabilities of lecturers, researchers, and doctoral candidates, thereby contributing to strengthening PTIT’s academic standing in the region.

During the discussion, Mr. Stan Lee highlighted several trends shaping higher education and scientific research in Asia, particularly the shift from increasing publication quantity toward improving research quality, practical impact, and academic influence.

Representatives from Emerald Publishing also introduced the publisher’s academic ecosystem, which includes journals in areas such as artificial intelligence, data science, robotics, signal processing, engineering, and technology. Many journals within the system are highly ranked in Scopus and Web of Science, including leading journals in machine learning and signal processing.

In addition, Emerald Publishing shared models adopted by many universities in the region to strengthen international publication capacity, promote open research, improve transparency and research ethics standards, and enhance the social impact of scientific work.

Further discussing cooperation opportunities, Assoc. Prof. Dang Hoai Bac highly appreciated Emerald Publishing’s development orientations and expressed his expectation that both sides could implement concrete collaborative programs in the near future, such as supporting the development of scientific journals and connecting PTIT research groups with international academic networks.

The two sides also discussed the possibility of jointly organizing programs for lecturers, researchers, and doctoral candidates related to peer-review processes, research ethics standards, optimization of scientific publication quality, and the application of AI in academic research.
