On July 29, 2025, Coding Fest 2025 was held at the University of Sydney, Australia, bringing together more than 500 participants and over 60 tech-driven projects from leading universities around the world. Among the participating institutions were globally renowned universities such as the University of Sydney, University of New South Wales, University of Technology Sydney, and Macquarie University.

Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT) proudly fielded four student teams, each presenting innovative solutions that leverage cutting-edge technology to tackle real-world social issues. Demonstrating remarkable talent, PTIT students swept the awards in the “Excellence in Technology for Social Good” category, affirming the strong presence of Vietnamese students on the international stage.

PTIT Teams Shine at the Global Event

The VILUTRA team—comprised of Trần Khánh Linh, Nguyễn Quốc Hưng, and Nguyễn Đăng Minh—won the Champion Award for their project titled “Practical Multi-Camera Approach to Real-Time Lost Child Search in Public Environments”. The project leverages computer vision and real-time image processing to rapidly detect and locate missing children in public areas. The concept impressed the jury for its powerful social relevance and high potential for real-world application.

The Runner-Up Award went to Team COGEN, including Nguyễn Minh Quang, Trần Tuấn Minh, and Trương Minh Danh. Their project, “AI- and Gamification-Powered Platform for Sex Education,” delivers scientifically grounded, age-appropriate sexual education through an interactive and engaging format. Aimed at adolescents, the platform offers a refreshing and responsible approach to sexual health education in the digital age.

The other two PTIT teams also made a strong impression during the exhibition. LAB-Support (Nguyễn Thạch Anh, Đỗ Ngọc Lâm, Nguyễn Nam Vũ) introduced a project titled “Labor Assistance and Business Support,” while GlamAura (Ngô Tuấn Anh, Phạm Đức Anh, Mai Đức Bình) showcased “AI-powered platform for Virtually Applying Makeup and Booking Makeup Artist.” All four teams demonstrated strong technical acumen, creativity, and a deep commitment to building solutions that benefit communities.

This success at Coding Fest 2025 is a significant milestone for PTIT, reinforcing the university’s excellence in Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence education. PTIT remains dedicated to fostering creativity, nurturing innovation, and supporting students in turning high-impact ideas into reality. Promoting student participation in global competitions is a key strategic focus, helping students build practical skills, gain real-world experience, and expand international networks.

Competitions like Coding Fest serve as more than just a stage for showcasing student talent—they are vibrant platforms for learning, exchange, and inspiration. Organized annually by the School of Computer Science at the University of Sydney, the event offers students a unique opportunity to sharpen their coding and problem-solving skills, engage with peers from around the world, and gain valuable insights from leading experts on the future of AI and emerging technologies.

PTIT’s remarkable achievement at this year’s Coding Fest not only brings great pride to the university but also shines the growing influence of young Vietnamese talent in the global tech landscape. Through their creativity and technical excellence, PTIT students have made a strong statement about Vietnam’s potential to contribute meaningfully to the world’s technological future.
