On October 23, 2024, in Hanoi, a delegation from the Ministry of Education and Training of the Republic of Vanuatu visited and held discussions with Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT). The delegation included Mr. Tran Nam Trung, Consul General of the Republic of Vanuatu in Vietnam; Mr. Yan Amos, Acting Director of Administration and Finance; and Mr. Samuel Katipa, Acting Executive Director, Ministry of Education and Training, Republic of Vanuatu. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Hoai Bac, President of PTIT, and representatives from various departments and functional offices welcomed the delegation.

On behalf of PTIT’s leadership, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Hoai Bac warmly welcomed the delegation from the Ministry of Education and Training of Vanuatu. In his remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Hoai Bac introduced PTIT as the only university directly under the Ministry of Information and Communications, with campuses in both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, serving over 20,000 students across nearly 30 academic programs. PTIT is a pioneer in Vietnam in launching programs in Information Security, Multimedia Technology, and Fintech. The President emphasized that PTIT, a young and rapidly growing university, is eager to welcome Vanuatu students to pursue their studies and research at PTIT. With strong connections to leading technology firms, PTIT is well-positioned to support both academic and research activities for international students.

Representing the delegation, Mr. Yan Amos, Acting Director of Administration and Finance, highlighted the longstanding diplomatic ties between Vanuatu and Vietnam. He expressed Vanuatu’s ongoing commitment to seeking quality educational opportunities for its students in esteemed international institutions. Mr. Amos stated, “We have chosen Vietnam with the belief that your country offers a robust educational environment for the citizens of Vanuatu. We are also grateful for the opportunity to visit PTIT, one of Vietnam’s leading universities, to discuss academic and research opportunities for Vanuatu students.”
During the meeting, both sides discussed sending Vanuatu students to study in Vietnam, with potential collaboration in fields such as technology, industrial engineering, healthcare, tourism, hospitality, and agriculture. They also explored options for enhancing English and French language instruction in Vanuatu’s schools, and proposed opportunities for educational cooperation and exchanges between the two nations.
