In the context of strengthening technology cooperation between Vietnam and India ahead of the Vietnam–India Innovation Forum, a delegation from the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT), led by Prof. Dr. Dang Hoai Bac, held a working session with the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) in New Delhi, focusing on discussions related to high-tech training development, artificial intelligence, and expanding cooperation in the coming period.

C-DAC is one of India’s leading research and development organizations in information technology and electronics under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), recognized for its expertise in high-performance computing, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and chip design. Based on these strengths, the cooperation between PTIT and C-DAC has been regarded as a representative model for technology workforce development between the two countries.

Within the framework of the ASEAN–India cooperation project, both sides jointly established and operated the Centre of Excellence in Software Development and Training (CESDT) at PTIT’s Ho Chi Minh City campus. The model has achieved notable initial results, with nearly 1,000 trainees completing training programs, the establishment of a core lecturer team through the Master Trainer program in India, and the localization of training programs to better meet Vietnam’s practical demands.

Overview of the working session

Based on the cooperation outcomes, Prof. Dr. Dang Hoai Bac, President of PTIT, noted that CESDT is gradually evolving beyond a training project into a strategic cooperation model for digital workforce development. In response to the increasing demand for human resources in areas such as AI, semiconductors, embedded systems, and digital transformation, he expressed his expectation that both sides would continue expanding cooperation by updating training programs aligned with market needs and developing advanced courses based on C-DAC standards.

In addition, both sides discussed student exchange programs, internship opportunities at Indian technology enterprises, and the possibility of establishing joint laboratories in areas such as artificial intelligence, chip design, UAVs, and aerospace technologies. Expanding the CESDT training model to PTIT’s Hanoi campus and developing long-term international-standard training programs were also identified as promising directions for future cooperation.

From a strategic perspective, PTIT emphasized that the combination of India’s technological capabilities and Vietnam’s rapidly growing development demand could create a sustainable cooperation model, not only in training but also in research and technology transfer. This is expected to serve as a foundation for expanding cooperation in key technological fields in the coming period.
