From May 16th to 17th, 2024, at Hanoi campus, the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT) organized the “PTIT-CAU HACKATHON 2024″ competition in collaboration with Chung Ang University (Korea). The event aimed to provide an academic playground in the field of multimedia technology for students.
The competition was organized to inspire creativity, ignite entrepreneurial spirit in the field of multimedia technology, enhance learning and exchange between Vietnamese and Korean students, and create opportunities for idea and product development under the guidance of experienced experts in multimedia technology from large companies in both countries. Notably, “PTIT-CAU HACKATHON 2024” was led by the Head of the Judging Panel – Professor Wi Jong-Hyun, President of the Korean Game Society, a leading professor in game technology and multimedia at Chung Ang University.
In this competition, students from the Multimedia Faculty of PTIT and 4 Korean universities including Chung Ang University, Kon Kuk University, Kyung Hee University, and Kaywon Arts and Design University were divided into 5 groups. Each group (consisting of 4 students-2 PTIT and 2 Korean students) was to come up with a business idea for a product in one of the following areas: 2D/3D animation, Game, VR/AR, Short Video… and develop that idea into a prototype.
After 15 hours of training, exchange, idea generation, and intense competition, with active support from professors at Chung Ang University, PTIT teachers, and a team of mentors including senior leaders from organizations such as Vietsoft Pro, Gamegeek Asia, Lac Bird, Nextchallenge Foundation ASEAN Labs, the teams excelled in
completing the tasks. The final results were as follows:
– The Championship belonged to the XR Studio Hub team
– The Second Prize went to the Cappo and 2×2 teams
– The Third Prize was awarded to the Rabbit Tracker and Netopia teams.
Prior to this, in December 2023, PTIT and Chung Ang University signed a cooperation agreement focusing on activities such as faculty and student exchange.
In early 2024, a PTIT student team excellently won the Silver Prize at the “Global Entrepreneurial Design Thinking Competition” organized by Chung Ang University.
