On December 26, 2024, Huawei Vietnam and the Vietnam Digital Communications Association (VDCA) organized the Digital Talents Summit 2024 to honor outstanding students who participated and won high prizes in Huawei’s digital talent training programs. Accordingly, Huawei Vietnam honored the student team that won the first prize in the Asia-Pacific regional round of the Tech4Good Competition; awarded prizes to the 9 best students in the National round of the ICT Competition 2024 – 2025 and awarded graduation certificates to 40 students who participated in the Seeds for the Future program and the ICT competition.

Seeds for the Future 2024 Program: Honoring 40 outstanding “seeds” who completed the course; 3/6 students with the best results are students of the PTIT

“Seeds for the Future 2024” is a leading CSR project of Huawei worldwide, organized annually to train and exchange knowledge about ICT for students with a passion for technology. In Vietnam, “Seeds for the Future 2024” is entering its 9th year, attracting thousands of talented students from leading universities and training institutes in the ICT industry to register to participate (Hanoi University of Science and Technology, VinUni University, FPT University, RMIT University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport, PTIT, People’s Security Academy, …).

In addition to the series of courses on AI, 5G, Cloud, Digital Power organized by Huawei, this year’s program organized many activities to support the improvement of academic knowledge and practical skills for talented students from August 13-21, 2024. Specifically, students visited and exchanged with experts and leading lecturers at the National Innovation Center (NIC) and leading universities, such as Hanoi University of Science and Technology, FPT University, VinUni University, …; exchanged and directly discussed many different topics with technology experts from the Department of Information and Communications Technology Industry, the National Cyber ​​Security Association and Huawei Vietnam.

After the learning and experience process, the 40 best students completed the program’s courses. In addition, after the process of recording and evaluating students from various perspectives, the program also found 06 students with the highest scores, including:

In addition to their high achievements in Vietnam, the 6 students also won the First Prize with the SkyNet project – supporting the search for flood victims at the Tech4Good competition in Asia – Pacific, advancing to the Global Finals held in 2025 in Shenzhen, China and having the opportunity to receive startup funding. This is the best achievement of the Vietnamese team so far at the Tech4Good competition.

Huawei ICT Competition 2024: Finding 9 talented students in the National round, including 5 students from the PTIT

In addition to the Seeds for the Future program, Huawei ICT Competition 2024 – 2025 is also an academic program within Huawei’s digital talent training activities. Held annually since 2015, Huawei ICT Competition is a competition for students majoring in information technology at universities and academies around the world. The 2023-2024 competition alone attracted more than 170,000 students from more than 80 countries and regions to participate.

In Vietnam, the competition has successfully organized its 3rd season, providing a healthy technology playground, helping to equip and improve the latest technology knowledge for students so that they are ready to participate in the digital human resources in the future. Previously, in 2022 and 2023, the Vietnamese student delegation participating in the regional round in the Philippines and the global round in China excelled over their opponents and won the 3rd prize globally.

In this year’s competition, Huawei Vietnam brought a treasure trove of knowledge with 3 different learning contents, including: Cloud Track, Network Track and Computing Track. After a month of studying, the competition found 09 outstanding faces with the highest scores in the National round. Specifically:

The 9 outstanding students will continue to compete in the Asia-Pacific Regional Round scheduled to be held in February 2025 in Malaysia and the Global Finals in China, experiencing the Digital Cultural Tour in Shenzhen, China and meeting, interacting and competing with young talents from countries around the world. This will be a solid foundation for students to continuously develop their skills, expand their network and prepare for their future careers.

Thus, out of a total of 9 awards, the PTIT alone has 5 students winning a challenging competition organized by Huawei. It is known that in 2024, in addition to the Tech4Good Competition and Huawei ICT Competition, the Academy also won many National First Prizes in Competitions organized by global companies and enterprises such as the National First Prize of the 2024 World Championship of Graphic Design, the First Prize of the Vietnamese National Category of the AI ​​Global Impact Festival of Intel Corporation (USA), and was honored by Google as one of the top 10 best universities in the Digital Talent Training Program.

Mr. Macky Zhang, General Director of Huawei Vietnam, shared: “With more than 26 years of association in Vietnam, Huawei is proud to be a pioneer in the ICT field, and is committed to training 10,000 technology talents in the next three years. In 2024 alone, Huawei will nurture more than 4,000 ICT talents through many training and experience activities”.

Mr. Zhang emphasized that through programs such as Seeds for the Future and Huawei ICT Competition, Huawei hopes to contribute to promoting national digital transformation, towards a digital, smart and sustainable Vietnam.

At the event, Mr. Nguyen Minh Hong, Chairman of VDCA, highly appreciated Huawei Vietnam’s efforts in training digital talents. He shared: “The Vietnamese government is paying much attention to the development of Vietnam’s digital technology industry. I hope that today’s talented “seeds” will contribute to the digital transformation in Vietnam in the future. I would like to thank the universities that participated in the program. I hope that the schools will continue to develop and contribute to training high-quality human resources in the field of information and communications technology in the future.”

Attending the event, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Tuyen, Deputy General Director of Authority of ICT Industry and Communications, Ministry of Information and Communications also shared: “Since participating in the training session for students in the Seeds for the Future 2024 program, I have seen their excitement when participating in practical experiential activities organized by Huawei. Today, I am very happy to see them again and even more excited when Vietnamese students won first prize in the global Tech4Good competition, surpassing many other international student groups. Huawei Vietnam has provided great support to students with a passion for technology, creating opportunities for them to access many training facilities, research centers, and startups. Through that, they can show their talents and nurture their passion for technology.”
