On November 7, 2024, in Japan, Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT) proudly received the prestigious ASOCIO 2024 Award in the EduTech category, presented by the Asia-Oceania Computing Industry Organization (ASOCIO). The delegation, led by Dr. Nguyen Trung Kien, Vice President of PTIT, received the award at the ceremony.
The awards ceremony was part of ASOCIO Digital Summit, a large-scale event held over three days, from November 6 to November 8, 2024, in Tokyo, Japan. The event gathered over 600 participants, including 400 domestic and 200 international delegates.
ASOCIO is a leading regional IT award recognizing outstanding individuals, organizations, and enterprises across its 24 member economies. Nominees for the awards are exclusively ASOCIO members. The ASOCIO Award honors exceptional contributions in ten categories, including Technology, Smart City, Digital Government, EduTech, HealthTech, Cybersecurity, and ESG.
PTIT was honored in the EduTech category for pioneering efforts in digital transformation in higher education in Vietnam. The institute has developed and implemented Digital University (DU) platform for nearly 30 universities nationwide, optimizing processes for large-scale, high-quality training and lifelong learning.
The DU platform includes innovative components such as: PTIT-Admission for digital enrollment and admissions PTIT-Slink for connecting students, lecturers, and institutions PTIT-1Gate for online public services PTIT-Pay for payment gateways PTIT-TCount for teaching hour calculations PTIT-LMS+Mooc for digital training management PTIT-Proctor for online examinations PTIT-Dlab for virtual labs PTIT-Blockchain for diploma authentication using blockchain and digital signatures PTIT-SM for digital scientific management Among its highlights, the virtual lab system, Dlab, offers courses with over 18,000 accounts, covering 15 subjects and 806 classes, with nearly 3.7 million exercises submitted. The institute’s digital admissions solution has been adopted by Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training for university admissions in 2022, 2023, and 2024.
In digital learning materials, PTIT has created resources for traditionally challenging subjects, such as political theory, by inviting prominent figures to deliver lectures. To date, approximately 2–3 million students have participated in political theory courses, completing 17 credits through digital platforms.
Additionally, PTIT has developed the PTIT-Slink application for mobile and web, connecting students and faculty while providing comprehensive services and information. With nearly 39,000 accounts, PTIT-Slink has become an essential tool for supporting students throughout their academic journey.
Thanks to its achievements, the digital university model has inspired hundreds of universities and colleges across Vietnam. In 2022, PTIT received a certificate of merit from the Prime Minister for its exceptional contributions to digital transformation in higher education. Earlier, in May 2024, PTIT was ranked the No. 1 university in Vietnam for innovation by Scimago.
Founded in 1984 in Tokyo, ASOCIO is the most active international trade organization in the Asia-Pacific region, representing 24 associations and over 10,000 multinational enterprises. The ASOCIO Award, established in 2003, remains a prestigious recognition in the IT sector.
