On May 24, the announcement and award ceremony for the teams participating in the Huawei ICT Competition 2024-2025 was held in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, China.
This year’s competition set a record in scale with more than 210,000 teachers and students from more than 2,000 schools and academies from more than 100 countries and regions. After the national and regional rounds, 179 teams from 48 countries and regions competed in the final round held in Shenzhen from May 20-24.
Vietnam has 9 students including: 5 students from Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology and 4 students from Hanoi University of Science and Technology, University of Science and Technology (Ho Chi Minh City National University), Institute of Cryptography Science and Technology and FPT University, divided into three competing groups.
9 Vietnamese students won prizes in Huawei ICT Competition 2024-2025
According to the results of the competition, in the three categories of practice, creativity and programming, the Organizing Committee awarded 18 special prizes, 4 prizes to honor women in science and technology, 1 green development prize and the first, second and third prizes in the categories.
Student group Bui Quoc An, Dau Van Khoa and Tran Hai Dang won first prize in the Cloud Computing category.
In the category of Cloud Computing, the student group including: Dau Van Khoa (Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology), Tran Hai Dang (University of Technology, Ho Chi Minh City National University), student Bui Quoc An (Institute of Cryptography Science and Technology) won the first prize in the category of Cloud Computing.
In the category of Computer, the student group including: Mai Thi Phuong, Nguyen Tu Kien (Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology), Duong Van Hiep (FPT University) won the second prize.

In the Network Practice category, the group of students Le Nhu Quynh, Dinh Hoang Anh (Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology), Nguyen Le Hong Khanh (Hanoi University of Science and Technology) won the third prize.
Sharing his feelings after receiving the award, Dinh Hoang Anh, a fourth-year student majoring in Information Technology, Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology, said: “Regarding this competition, I find it a useful and interesting playground and I get to learn many new technologies. Besides, we have the opportunity to interact and exchange culture with talented young people from many places around the world. I see this as a great opportunity and a stepping stone for us to develop our careers, as well as support us in our personal projects, helping us in the future”.
For her part, Mai Thi Phuong, a third-year student majoring in Information Technology at the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology, shared: “I am very honored and proud to represent Vietnam in the competition. Even more special, I am one of two female members of the participating team. I feel responsible for inspiring female students in the technology industry. And I feel that Vietnamese students are completely capable of competing with their peers in the international arena.”
The Huawei ICT Competition has been held annually since 2015, attracting a total of more than 960,000 entrants from more than 2,000 schools and academies in more than 100 countries and territories, with the aim of creating a playground for international competition and exchange for students, helping to improve their knowledge of ICT, practical capacity, as well as training students’ innovation and creativity in applying new technology, thereby contributing to promoting the development of the world’s digital technology.
