On November 11, 2025, the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT) hosted a meeting with representatives from San José State University (SJSU, USA) to promote training programs, student exchanges, and research collaboration in the fields of engineering and technology.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Sheryl Ehrman, Dean of the Charles W. Davidson College of Engineering at SJSU. Representing PTIT, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Hoai Bac, the President, along with leaders from various departments and functional units, welcomed the delegation.

During the meeting, both parties discussed specific collaborative activities aimed at promoting training, research, and the development of high-quality human resources. Proposed activities include internship programs and learning experiences in advanced technological environments, scholarship programs for talented students, and international joint programs. These initiatives are designed to provide students with access to in-depth specialized knowledge, develop practical skills, and build career opportunities both domestically and in the global market. The cooperation also aims to facilitate faculty exchanges, joint research, and enhanced efforts to secure funding for practical projects, thereby improving the research quality of both institutions.

San José State University is the oldest public university in California, located in the heart of Silicon Valley—the world’s leading technology and business capital. The university currently enrolls approximately 40,000 students in over 130 degree programs, with many fields ranked highly nationwide, including engineering, information technology, business, journalism & media, architecture, and art. The Charles W. Davidson College of Engineering is renowned for its high-quality engineering programs. Notably, its Computer Engineering major is ranked 1st nationally, and its overall engineering program is ranked 3rd in the United States. It is a prestigious engineering institution with strong ties to leading technology corporations like Apple, Google, Cisco, and IBM.

The visit and working session by the SJSU representatives mark a significant step in establishing research and training cooperation programs between the two institutions. This contributes to enhancing the capabilities of PTIT’s faculty and researchers and opens future opportunities for high-quality human resource training at both universities. The meeting also provides a chance to build a network with leading enterprises and experts in Silicon Valley, laying a solid foundation for long-term, sustainable collaboration.

Previously, on May 19, 2025, at the Hanoi campus, the Faculty of Electronics Engineering 1 of PTIT and the Department of Electrical Engineering at San José State University (EE-SJSU, USA) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This agreement aims to implement internship and short-term training programs, creating a foundation for the Faculty of Electronics Engineering 1 to access advanced resources and technologies from the US, while also helping to enhance the quality of training and scientific research for both parties in the next phase.
