On the morning of October 10, 2024, the People’s Committee of Bac Giang Province organized a seminar on Digital Transformation Day 2024 under the theme: “Popularizing Digital Infrastructure and Creating Digital Applications for Economic Development – A New Engine for Economic Growth and Labor Productivity in Bac Giang Province.” The event also featured an exhibition of science and technology products and solutions from various organizations and businesses. PTIT (Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology) was the only university invited to participate in the exhibition.

Key provincial leaders attending the seminar included Ms. Lam Thi Huong Thanh, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chair of the Provincial People’s Council, and Mr. Mai Son, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Permanent Vice Chair of the Provincial People’s Committee. Other attendees included provincial officials, representatives from various sectors, local leaders, and digital transformation enterprises in the province.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Mai Son, Vice Chair of the Provincial People’s Committee, emphasized that digital transformation is a long journey requiring persistence, creativity, and commitment from the entire political system and society, especially from leadership.

Mr. Mai Son conveyed a strong message to the delegates, business community, and citizens regarding the Provincial People’s Committee’s commitment to accelerating digital transformation across Bac Giang in the coming years. The province will focus on expanding essential digital services in healthcare, education, and culture, and intensifying collaboration with universities, particularly PTIT, to implement master’s and second-degree training programs in information technology. This aims to develop a highly skilled digital workforce to meet the demands of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and Bac Giang’s development in the digital age. Additionally, the province will strengthen its capacity to ensure the security of information systems and raise awareness about information security among officials and citizens throughout the province.
