On April 5, 2025, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnam Mathematical Association held the Closing Ceremony and Award Ceremony of the 31st National Student Mathematical Olympiad. The student block had 649 contestants participating with 749 rounds of competition in the two subjects of Algebra and Analysis. The Mathematical Olympiad team of the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT) won 6 Gold Medals, 1 Silver Medal and achieved First place in the Engineering Block.
The PTIT Student Math Team had 9 students who won 7 medals, including 6 Gold Medals, 1 Silver Medal and 01 special achievement award for student Tran Van Khanh -D23CQCN13 – “double valedictorian” in the two subjects of Algebra and Analysis, in which the Analysis exam received an absolute score of 30/30 points.
In the Algebra exam, 02 Gold Medals belonged to student Tran Van Khanh – D23CQCN13 and student Dao Binh Minh, class B23DCKH076;

In the Analysis competition, 04 Gold Medals belonged to students: Tran Van Khanh – D23CQCN13, Nguyen Viet Hoan – B24DCCN229, Nguyen Duc Manh – B22DCCN523, Phan Viet Bao – B23DCKH006; 01 Silver Medal belonged to student Nguyen Thanh Dat – B24DCAT049.
Analysis Team
With the above impressive achievements, the Mathematical Olympiad Team of PTIT achieved First Place in the Engineering Block and was one of the four strongest teams in the whole delegation. This is also the best achievement of PTIT’s Mathematical Olympiad team after 31 times participating in the competition. Mathematics is an indispensable foundation for many important fields in the digital age such as artificial intelligence, automation and robotics technology, semiconductor microchips, data analysis, etc. These are the strong training fields of the Academy. Under the training of lecturers of the Department of Mathematics – Faculty of Fundamental Sciences 1 of the Academy such as Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Ngoc Anh, Dr. Le Van Ngoc, Dr. Hoang Phi Dung, etc., PTIT’s Student Mathematical Olympiad team has continuously won many high awards at the National Student Mathematical Olympiad Competitions for many years, thereby not only contributing to promoting the mathematics movement and passion for mathematics among Academy students but also helping students practice professional skills and prepare well.

It is known that the 9 students selected for PTIT’s Mathematical Olympiad team have gone through many preliminary rounds, selected from nearly 200 students passionate about Mathematics and have been trained and tutored by teachers for many months. The exam is a large playground for students and pupils nationwide who share a passion for Mathematics. This is also a place to nurture and discover mathematical talents. After 30 domestic Olympiads, many candidates have matured and achieved many successes from the International Mathematical Olympiad, contributing to raising the position of Vietnamese mathematics in the region and in the world. The next exam is expected to take place in Quy Nhon City in 2026.
