On April 10, 2025, in Hanoi, a delegation from Rapid.Space Company (France) visited and held a working session with the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT). The delegation was led by Mr. Jean-Paul Smets, CEO of Rapid.Space. The delegation was received by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Hoai Bac, President of PTIT, along with representatives from relevant departments and units of the Institute.
During the meeting, representatives of both parties exchanged views and discussed potential areas of future cooperation, with a particular focus on education and training, research, and product development in the field of 5G technologies.
Rapid.Space International is the largest open-source hardware and software manufacturer for mobile network systems in Europe. The company is also a founding member of the SimpeRAN Alliance, playing a leading role in deploying 4G/5G networks for service providers and in establishing global standards for virtualized Radio Access Networks (vRAN).
Previously, in February 2025, on the sidelines of the 3rd France–Southeast Asia Business Cooperation Forum, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Hoai Bac held a bilateral working session with Mr. Jean-Paul Smets, CEO of Rapid.Space International (France), which opened up numerous opportunities for cooperation in 5G research and development.

Speaking at the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Hoai Bac, President of PTIT, stated:
“As one of the five higher education institutions designated to develop into a national key university in engineering and technology, and as a pioneer in information technology and digital transformation in Vietnam, PTIT will continue to strengthen cooperation with global technology partners and consider this collaboration a key driving force for the PTIT”s development.”
He also expressed his honor in partnering with Rapid.Space and emphasized:
“Cooperation with Rapid.Space will provide PTIT students with opportunities to access advanced technologies in modern network systems such as 5G and 6G, as well as their practical applications. This will enable our graduates to work effectively immediately after graduation and pursue careers at telecommunications corporations in Vietnam and worldwide.”
From the perspective of Rapid.Space, CEO Jean-Paul Smets openly shared insights into the company’s technologies and products, which have been deployed in numerous countries and integrated into academic curricula at various universities, including Télécom Paris. Drawing on its extensive experience, Rapid.Space expressed its readiness to support PTIT in incorporating the latest 5G/6G technologies into academic programs and in building experimental systems that allow students not only to learn about advanced technologies but also to gain hands-on, real-world experience while still at university.
The working session concluded successfully. PTIT and Rapid.Space expressed strong consensus on a promising future of cooperation and committed to actively promoting and implementing collaborative activities in the near future.
