HANOI – In a significant step toward enhancing national digital defense capabilities, Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT) recently held a strategic meeting with global cybersecurity leader Kaspersky. This high-level dialogue follows the direction set by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the October 2025 meeting between Kaspersky CEO Eugene Kaspersky and Deputy Minister Bui The Duy. Recognizing PTIT’s position as a leading institution in telecommunications and information security training, the meeting focused on establishing a comprehensive cooperation framework to develop high-quality human resources for Vietnam’s digital sector.

During the working session, the Kaspersky delegation, led by Mr. Heng Lee, Head of Government Affairs and Public Policy for Asia-Pacific and Japan, presented the “Academy Alliance” initiative. This proposal offers PTIT students and faculty unprecedented access to Kaspersky’s global expertise. Key components of this collaboration package include full access to the Kaspersky Training Platform for professional certification and access to a global expert pool that can provide up to 42 expert-led lectures per year. This initiative aims to bridge the gap between academic theory and the practical realities of the global cybersecurity landscape.

Innovative Training and Practical Skills Development A major highlight of the discussion was the integration of advanced interactive learning tools. Kaspersky introduced the Kaspersky Interactive Protection Simulation (KIPS), a gamified simulation designed to teach cyber defense strategy. Furthermore, the partnership aims to boost student engagement through global initiatives such as the “Global Partner Summit,” expert webinar series, and support for Capture The Flag (CTF) competitions. These programs are designed to sharpen practical skills and provide students with international exposure, preparing them for the demands of the modern cybersecurity industry.

Deepening Cooperation in Research and Career Opportunities Beyond training, PTIT emphasized the importance of practical cooperation in research and career development. The PTIT proposed collaboration on building specialized curricula and reference materials for the Ministry , as well as joint research efforts in vulnerability scanning and system testing. To ensure students are job-ready, both parties discussed establishing internship programs and organizing career days. Kaspersky also expressed willingness to support faculty members by providing software licenses, such as “Cybersecurity for IT Online,” to aid in teaching and research.
