A delegation from NVIDIA Corporation (USA), led by Dr. Ettikan Karuppia, Technology Director for NVIDIA’s Asia-Pacific region, recently visited the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT). The delegation was warmly welcomed by Prof. Dr. Tu Minh Phuong, Chairman of PTIT’s Council, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Hoai Bac, Director of PTIT, along with representatives from various departments and functional units of the Institute.
During their visit, PTIT and NVIDIA held two sessions: one focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its potential development, and the other aimed at exploring collaboration opportunities to foster talent in the field of AI.
The AI session was attended by many faculty members, researchers, and students with an interest in Information Technology, particularly AI. Dr. Ettikan Karuppia shared NVIDIA’s insights on the current state of AI and its potential for development, as well as expectations for AI’s growth in Vietnam.
Following the session, representatives from both PTIT and NVIDIA continued their discussions on opportunities for collaboration in AI talent development. They explored the creation of training programs for AI engineers at various stages, from foundational to specialized levels. Both parties agreed that AI is an emerging field with vast opportunities for research and development, requiring training programs to be continuously updated to keep pace with technological advancements. Additionally, NVIDIA representatives shared research findings on building an ecosystem to support AI product research.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Prof. Dr. Tu Minh Phuong, Chairman of PTIT’s Council, expressed gratitude and presented a token of appreciation to the NVIDIA delegation. The meeting is expected to pave the way for future collaboration, contributing to the enhancement of IT and AI training and research at PTIT.
