On July 29, 2025, in Hanoi, the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT) held a Graduation Ceremony and awarded Master’s degrees to students of the English-taught Computer Science Program (VMCS) – Course 2023. Attending the Ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Thien Nghia, Director General of the Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Science and Technology, Dr. Khamtan Somvong, Cultural Counselor, Embassy of Laos in Vietnam, Representative of the Leadership of Viettel Global Investment Joint Stock Corporation (Viettel Global). On PTIT’s side, there were: Prof. Dr. Tu Minh Phuong, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of PTIT Council; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Quang Anh, Vice President; Representatives of the leaders of faculties, departments, and functional offices.

Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Tran Quang Anh, Vice President of PTIT, emphasized: “After two years of serious study and continuous efforts, 100% of the students of the 2023 course completed the program on time, with very encouraging results, of which 20% of the students graduated with Excellent. Many students have actively participated in scientific research activities and have a deep connection with the international academic community in Vietnam. This is the result of the determination of the students, the dedication of the teaching staff and the effective support of the Ministry of Science and Technology and Viettel Global Group.”

Representing the new masters, student Mbaru Japhari Muna emotionally shared: “We are proud to be the first course of the VMCS program – a program of strategic significance, opening up international study opportunities for many generations of students from countries that have cooperative relations with Vietnam”. At the same time, he also sent his sincere thanks to the teachers, schools and partners who have accompanied him throughout the learning process.

Also within the framework of the Ceremony, PTIT organized awards for the three most outstanding students of the course, including New Master Mbwana Francis Stephen from Tanzania; New Master Mbaru Japhari Muna from Tanzania; New Master Chidphayvanh Bounkongkeo from Laos. On behalf of PTIT’s leadership, Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Hoai Bac, President, presented awards and recognized the students’ tireless efforts in studying and researching during the two years of accompanying the program.

The VMCS program will be implemented from the 2023 academic year, within the framework of cooperation between PTIT and Viettel Global, under the direction of the Ministry of Information and Communications (now the Ministry of Science and Technology). The goal of the program is to contribute to improving the quality of human resources in information and communications technology for countries that have cooperative relations with Vietnam. VMCS is a master’s program in Computer Science, taught entirely in English and sponsored by Viettel Group with a full scholarship.
