On January 10, 2025, in Hanoi, the President and the delegation of senior leaders of Chung Ang University (a leading university in Korea) led by Professor Park Sang Gue, President, visited and worked at Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT).
Attending the meeting were Mr. Yang Ki Sung, Counselor in charge of Science and Technology of the Korean Embassy in Vietnam, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tuyen, Deputy Director of the Authority of Information Technology and Communications Industry, Ministry of Information and Communications. On the side of PTIT, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Hoai Bac, President, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Quang Anh – Vice President warmly welcomed the delegation.
Overview of the working session between the two universities
At the meeting, representatives of the two universities introduced the history, scale and development of the universities. Accordingly, PTIT is the only university under the Ministry of Information and Communications, with 9 training facilities in the two largest cities in the country, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, with more than 22,000 students, nearly 30 training majors, 20 specialized research labs. PTIT has 03 cooperation offices in Korea, Japan and Australia. PTIT has cooperative relations with many partners, which are businesses and universities around the world. In Vietnam, PTIT is a pioneer in opening training majors in Information Security, Multimedia Technology, Artificial Intelligence and Financial Technology… In recent times, PTIT has implemented many projects focusing on the fields of information technology, artificial intelligence, telecommunications serving the community and digital transformation. In addition, PTIT has supported students, sending them to participate in international competitions in Australia, Korea, and China, all of which have achieved high results. Chung Ang University was founded in 1918. Chung Ang University consists of 10 member universities and 16 member graduate schools. Chung Ang University has been widely promoting student exchange activities with more than 70 universities in 20 different countries. Currently, there are about 33,600 undergraduate students with 700 lecturers and 500 staff. The school is considered to have the most favorite training environment voted by Korean students.
At the meeting, Associate Professor Dr. Dang Hoai Bac, President, said: The Academy is a young, dynamic university that aims to reach regional and world levels. PTIT has pioneered in opening and training new majors such as: Information Security, Artificial Intelligence, Semiconductor, Multimedia, Game Design and Development… PTIT has established the Vietnam-Korea Center located in Hanoi to promote cooperation activities with Korean partners.

The President of PTIT thanked the attention and valuable sentiments of the senior leaders of Chung Ang University for their attention and affection for PTIT and affirmed: “The visit and work of the senior leaders of Chung Ang University is an important event, for the two universities to continue implementing the VCC Virtual Convergence College linkage project and open up opportunities for extensive cooperation in the fields of Multimedia, AI and Semiconductors. These are also areas of cooperation in accordance with the spirit of Resolution 57 on breakthroughs, development of Science, Technology, Innovation and National Digital Transformation recently issued by the Politburo.
Representing Chung Ang University, Professor Park Sang Gue, President, affirmed that the two universities have many similarities, opening up many opportunities for cooperation.
At the meeting, Chung Ang University representative, Professor Park Sang Gue, President said: Chung Ang University and PTIT have many similarities, many opportunities for cooperation in training and research in the fields of Information Security, Artificial Intelligence, Semiconductors… With the strengths and potential of the two universities, the cooperation will increase influence not only in the two countries but also globally.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tuyen, Deputy Director of the Authority of Information Technology and Communications Industry, said: “The Politburo has just issued Resolution No. 57 on breakthroughs in the development of Science, Technology, Innovation and National Digital Transformation. In the 6 groups of solutions, the Resolution devotes 1 group of solutions to the development and utilization of high-quality human resources, focusing on developing a team of lecturers and scientists with qualifications to meet the requirements of teaching basic science, semiconductor chip technology, microchips, engineering and key technologies; promoting cooperation with prestigious universities abroad. Therefore, the cooperation between PTIT and Chung Ang University, two leading universities in Korea and Vietnam in training and scientific research in new technology fields, is in accordance with the spirit of the Resolution”. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tuyen wished the cooperation between the two universities to be successful in the future and bring many benefits to serve the community of both countries.
