From February 26 to March 1, 2024, the 19th plenary meeting of the ASEAN-European Academic University Network (ASEA-UNINET) was held at Universiti Sains Malaysia, the chair for the 2022–2024 term.
The event focused on enhancing collaboration in postgraduate education and research among member universities. During the session, the ASEA-UNINET Steering Committee elected Prof. Roberto Ranzi of the University of Brescia as the new President and reviewed membership applications from four “candidate member” universities. Representing Vietnam, Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT) highlighted its strengths in postgraduate education, particularly its Ph.D. programs, and and its achievements in science and technology. Following a vote by the Steering Committee, PTIT was officially recognized as the 12th Vietnamese member of ASEA-UNINET on February 28, 2024.

ASEA-UNINET is a leading network of universities from Europe and Southeast Asia, aiming to fostering continuous internationalization in education and research. The network currently includes over 90 universities from 16 countries.

- Faculty and staff at PTIT can apply for scholarships for postdoctoral, doctoral, and master’s programs at prestigious European universities within the network through initiatives supported by the Austrian Academic Exchange Agency (OEAD) and other European institutions.
