On November 7, 2023, at the PTIT’s campus Hanoi, the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology welcomed the delegation of Seoul Cyber University (Korea) to visit and work on the project implementation of a digital university platform and joint programs between the two units.
Attending the meeting, on the PTIT’s side, there was Associate Professor. Dr. Dang Hoai Bac, President of PTIT, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Quang Anh, Vice Presidnet of PTIT, and leaders of relevant faculties and departments. On the Seoul Cyber University’s side, there was Dr. Lee Eun Joo, President of the Shil Il Education Foundation at Seoul Cyber University and professors and experts. In addition, the meeting also had the participation of Mr. Do Anh Tu, Director of VTC Digital Education and Training Institute, under the VTC Multimedia Corporation, Ministry of Information and Communications, other experts and relevant representatives.
At the meeting, Seoul Cyber University introduced an overview of the university and training programs. SCU includes 2 campuses, 43 majors and is the top 1 cyber institution in Korea. The university has the smart learning system, copyrighted learning materials and an integrated learning management system. SCU has 12 studios with more than 600 new learning materials produced and updated every year. In addition, SCU has very diverse, modern and practical learning methods and tools. The school has been connecting with many universities around the world and has experience participating in many collaborative projects.
Regarding the cooperation program with PTIT, through working visits from August 2023 up to now, Seoul Cyber University has analyzed the current situation of PTIT and identified its strengths and possible points in order to improve of the Academy through building a digital university plaform. Thereby, Seoul Cyber University can support PTIT in improving its operational management and training processes to better suit the needs of students, lecturers, and staff in the period 2023-2025. The Academy also has the ability to cooperate with Seoul Cyber University in building a specialized system to serve activities such as capacity building training, high quality distance learning…, helping the Academy build an e-system. -advanced learning. In addition, the two schools can also carry out joint training programs with the goal that each year the Academy can send about 200 students to Seoul Cyber University to study in forms such as Twinning 2+2 and other courses. other forms of cooperation.
Speaking at the meeting, Associate Professor, PhD. Dang Hoai Bac briefly introduced the characteristics and strengths of the Academy, including that the Academy is the only university directly under the Ministry of Information and Communications, with 2 campuses in 2 cities. is the largest university in the country, has the largest number of students majoring in IT-Communications and is the leading university in the country in multimedia training. PTIT hopes that the two sides could develop the cooperation in many fields at both PTIT’s training campuses in Hanoi and Hochiminh. In addition, with a scale of more than 20,000 students, PTIT is assigned the pioneering task of building a digital university. PTIT has research institutes with the capacity of developing advanced learning systems.
Impressed with the cooperation plan proposed by Seoul Cyber University, PTIT’s leaders committed to establishing the Steering Committee on the cooperation program with Seoul Cyber University and will detail the scope of cooperation and responsibilities of the parties. The Academy hopes that experts from Seoul Cyber University, with support from relevant ministries, will speed up the implementation of the IT cooperation project between the two sides. The Academy agrees with the proposed models of training links between the two schools and implements credit recognition and legal procedures, aiming for thousands of students to participate. The Academy hopes that the cooperation program between the two schools will be a typical model of cooperation between Vietnam and Korea.
Speaking in response, representative of Seoul Cyber University’s leadership, Dr. Lee Eun Joo expressed her hope to receive support from the Academy so that Seoul Cyber University can successfully cooperate in building a digital university platform to fulfill the goal of having two schools selected by two governments. Currently, the IT Support project between Vietnam and Korea is sponsored and coordinated by the Korean National Information Society Agency (NIA). Dr. Lee also highly appreciated the potential for cooperation between the two schools as well as the training and research capacity of the Academy.
The two schools are committed to expanding and enhancing cooperation in many fields and to many regional countries in East Asia, making an important contribution to the future development of the two schools.
