On October 5, 2024, a delegation from Tsinghua University (China), led by Professor Yang Bin, Vice President of Tsinghua University, visited and worked with Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT) in Hanoi. The delegation was warmly welcomed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Hoai Bac, President of PTIT, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Quang Anh, Vice President of PTIT.
During the session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Hoai Bac expressed his pleasure in welcoming the delegation from Tsinghua University for their second visit to PTIT in 2024. He shared the latest updates on the institute’s recent achievements, highlighting that PTIT was ranked first among universities in Vietnam in 2024 by the Spanish organization Schimago for its innovation efforts. He also noted that PTIT is in the process of gaining international accreditation for its undergraduate programs and is developing a proposal to establish the Vietnam Leadership and Management Institute. This new institute aims to integrate the best practices of modern management thinking, drawing from Eastern philosophy and the realities of business and governance in Vietnam. PTIT hopes to learn from Tsinghua University’s experiences in these areas. Additionally, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Hoai Bac expressed interest in learning from Tsinghua’s models for innovation, entrepreneurship, technology transfer, and industry collaboration. He proposed that PTIT and Tsinghua exchange educational resources, especially digital materials, aligned with modern curricula. Furthermore, he suggested that Tsinghua University provide PTIT’s students and young faculty members with opportunities to participate in Ph.D. and Master’s programs, as well as internships and practical experiences at the university. The President of PTIT also extended his gratitude to Tsinghua University for their ongoing support and expressed a desire for further concrete collaborations that would benefit both institutions shortly.
In response, Professor Yang Bin, Vice President of Tsinghua University, expressed a strong willingness to collaborate with PTIT and extended an invitation for PTIT to participate in several upcoming scientific and technological events. He also expressed hope for joint training programs that would allow PTIT students to study at Tsinghua University. Professor Yang Bin affirmed that Tsinghua University would offer scholarships for PTIT students pursuing Master’s and Ph.D. degrees and welcomed PTIT faculty to visit and participate in seminars and workshops at Tsinghua University.
Earlier, in January 2024, PTIT and Tsinghua University held meetings to discuss mutual areas of interest. This latest visit further strengthens the prospects for cooperation between the two institutions, contributing to the strategic partnership between Vietnam and China. It is worth noting that Tsinghua University is one of the top universities in China and ranked 12th in the 2024 Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings.
